An imaginary journey through a natural world brimming with water, flora and fauna.

To me, waterfalls are an astonishing natural element. Often hidden, finding them means exploring new trails. Diving in their waters or admiring their height and force is pure bliss. Volcanos, desert beaches and northern lights are precious gems that could never stop inspiring me.
Some pieces illustrate the fusion between human, earth and water. Animals, on the other hand, are distinct creatures that have always fascinated me. Some I’ve found in the real world already, other live only in my dreams still.

I’m one scroll away from the world. One look away from the mountains — during the day — and the stars — when night falls. 30 minutes away from the city, 2 kilometers from the sea. One hundred steps from the Ria and a hop away from the countryside. But the waterfall remains distant, to render my expedition eternal.

Expedition, the exhibition

I was invited by Ó Galeria to create the first exhibition of the year 2022. I was very proud, excited and anxious. During the previous 3 months I focused on creating every piece with a lot of dedication. The "Expedition" theme is the result of some of my visual culture from my childhood, my travels and my love for nature, especially waterfalls.

The creative process started with lots of sketches in my notebook. To create all the pieces I chose a bright color palette. For the wood pieces I drew the final vector lines and sent them to a specific company to be cutted and smooth out. After that I painted each piece with acrylic paint. All the illustrations were giclée printed on a PC Velvet paper.

For the exhibition I collected some bamboo branches to give a slightly tropical look. I customized stickers for the exhibition catering and dressed like an explorer with scarf and hat. At the opening day many people, friends and family came to visit the exhibition. It was a pleasant day.
