UCA Graphic Communciation Degree Show Proposal
The exhibition is a statement. Something new. Something that intrigues.  Something that encapsulates.

The exhibition is located inside the James Hockey Gallery. The structure would be built inside the space. It fits perfectly to create a large architectural piece. With its interesting shape and imposing size it is a large visual force that people cannot ignore. As soon as people enter the gallery they will have something to talk about. Something new.

The exhibition space is a large infographic which people can explore. The shape is based upon a pie chart about how many people specialised in each category for the Final Major Project. Walking inside an infographic intrigues the audience and the interior mirrors this intrigue.
Visual Proposal
The aim of Encapsulate is to show professionals the best work of the Graduating 3rd Years of the Graphic Communication course. Everyone should get an equal opportunity to be seen by the professionals and have the same prospects.

This exhibition space ensures that every student has equal opportunity to be seen. It is designed so that each student has the same amount of space on the wall. There are no corners in the round space so someone will not have to loose out and have to be in the corner.

This space immerses people in design through design. Everywhere, there are examples of design or information about the course or students. The space is designed to lead people round but to also get the viewers trapped in this immersive space that they get encapsulating within.  With inspiration from IKEA the visitors are led round the exhibition so they have to go past each persons work.

In an exhibition the work is always the most important point. Encapsulate is designed to not detract from the students work. The space is interesting and innovative however the interiors are intentionally minimal. The space communicates a lot to the audience through is simple design.  Through the whole design everything has considered whether it will detract from the students work.
Infographics
Encapsulate is a 3-D infographic. So inside there are a number of infographics that are positioned around the exhibition. These give the visitors more insight about the students.

The infographics play a support role to the students work so are not very intricate in design. These are easy to read infographics. They are incorporated into the black line navigation system so people will be lead to each infographic.

The infographics split up the white space of the exhibition. Through design the exhibition is a sparse space that has a lot of white space. The black infographics split this space up.
Invite
The invite needed to encapsulate the mood and feel of the exhibition. The minimalist design reflects the exhibition and reflects the brand.  No added graphics that will subtract from the main message or the students the work.  The same goes for the invitation. No added graphics that detract from the main message; location and time.

Each graphic will be embossed into thick black paper creating a tactile surface of the exhibition shape.  This will act a visual clue to the shape of the exhibition but does not include unnecessary information such as a map key.

The white lettering will be screen printed onto the invites. This gives a slight emboss to the letters giving a bit more tactility and class to the invitation.

The black envelope stands out from the rest of the envelopes when the post is delivered.  With black being associated with exclusivity it is the perfect colour to entice the recipient.
Physical Proposal
The Physical Proposal is important to the project because it is what the client will see. Each of these proposals are designed on an A3 board that the client can read through. Every element of the exhibtion is explained in this package.
