Manhattan Island memories

 
I’m delighted to share with you this recent painting ”Manhattan Island memories” I painted this last weekend, and it is the eighteenth in a new series exploring the spirit of adventure in all of us. Distant shores, great voyages, friendships rekindled and quiet moments of joy on reflection of the wonders of our world. 
 
The sky glowed with the sun’s last tangerine rays. After a long 3 day voyage, Mia was delighted to be near land once again. 
 
She felt the call of the sea and took a quick swim before docking for the night surprised to see a few of her finned friends coming up from the deeper waters through the coral canyon. 
 
She emerged half an hour later refreshed and ready to explore some of the city and see it as it came to life as the night descended.
 
She’d spent many good times in the city over the years and had a few old haunts to visit and friends to catch up with. 
 
She always found it invigorating being here and knew she’d discover something new as she always did on her visits.
