本书为日本江户时代的艺术巨匠歌川国芳创作的猫画。作为江户时代著名猫奴，歌川国芳在作画时经常与猫相伴，并在自己的创作中将爱猫们的日常百态私心地加入画中，最终留下一批令人目不暇接，形态、表情各异的猫咪。里面既有将猫咪作为配角的美人画，也有将猫咪作为主角的扇绘、拟人化画作、猫的冒险物语《胧月猫草纸》等经典作品。本书收录了合计340只以上的猫，每一只猫咪都表现了各自的独特个性，展现出与众不同的魅力。

This book is a collection of cats in Ukiyo-e by Kuniyoshi Utagawa, one of Japan’s great Edo-era artists. As a famous cat person in the Edo period, he often painted wih his cats and pictured the daily life of his cats in the paintings, leaving behind a dazzling collection of cats in many shapes and expressions. There are also classic works such as Bijin-ga prints in which cats are supporting characters, fan paintings, anthropomorphic paintings and the cat adventure (“Hazuki Cat Sketch”). The book includes over 340 cats, each showing their unique personalities and their distinctive charm.
