Casa de la Palabra "Togunas" of the Dogon ethnic group of Mali
Located in the village square, they provide shade and are the space where the townspeople meet to speak, discuss, govern, resolve conflicts and share their oral tradition.
The low ceiling height does not allow any of its occupants to stand up and adopt a threatening or arrogant attitude when they argue.
It has a roof with eight layers of millet straw. Each layer corresponds to one of the ancestors from whom the Dogon people originate.
