Elephants of Bandiagara

The Last Trip of the Bandiagara Elephants

The flight of the legendary elephants of Bandiagara, leaving their thousand-year-old lagoon where the Bani River flows into the Niger, in the heart of Mali, where they have drank since ancient times.

They carry the Dogon people, their architecture, their culture, their beliefs and traditions on their shoulders, before they are lost forever by the incessant and overwhelming arrival of the white man.

This project was a personal commission from a private client who loves elephants, African culture and heritage.

Printing on matte laminated photographic paper, mounted on a light foam-pvc panel, 22 mm thick, dimensions 750 x 1000 mm.
