ABOUT OKCHE
The Oklahoma Council for History Education was founded in Fall 2004 by a group of Oklahoma history teachers. Its two founding members were long-time members of the National Council for History Education, with one being the Oklahoma liaison to NCHE. Naturally, they brought their passion for history on a national level to the founding of the OKCHE as a state partner of NCHE.

They are dedicated to the scholarly teaching of history and developing the creative and critical skills that today's students require for tomorrow. Their mission includes advocating and advancing the study and teaching of history in schools throughout the state, helping to support the development of effective history instruction for students and teachers.

BEHIND THE REBRAND
OKCHE approached me for this rebrand to help their organisation establish a stronger look as they grew and expanded.
A modern, confident brand and logo would help them to put their best foot forward as they went on to market their group and its goals to new members and schools.

The key part of this chosen logo is a simplified version of the Native American shield found on the state flag fused with the "O" for Oklahoma. This encompasses state history well and puts the symbol in a modern light.
It's designed to be a balanced version that has all the elements of the flag design but doesn't overcomplicate.
