The mural was created with the financial support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine on the initiative of the project "Mental Health for Ukraine" in partnership with the city of Mariupol and the Mariupol branch of the NGO "Ukrainian Academy of Leadership
We created a composition depicting a stone tower. At the top of the tower - the main metaphorical character of the mural - a human being. The tower consists of various elements that symbolize the mental states of a person: sad, happy, prosperous, and emotionally complex ones. To maintain such tower, you need an absolute balance of all elements.
The tower, together with all its parts, is the personification of life. Since all components of our existence affect the mental and emotional condition.
With this piece of art, we aimed to show that it is vital to take care of your mental balance, to arrange a time for work and for rest, allow yourself to experience different emotional and mental conditions.
Also, in the picture you can see Greek antique pottery and a sea lighthouse, so we strived to match the mural with the local context of Mariupol.
We hope that such work will be of cultural and tourist value for the city, and will serve as a reminder for the residents of the importance of maintaining a balance of their mental health.
