The LaRose Wellness Retreat is an independently owned guest home on Keweenaw Bay of Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Retreat is a distinctive and intimate lakefront property with five bedrooms, two full bathrooms and two half-baths, a sauna, hot tub, pool, fireplace, sunroom, deck, and lake access. The Retreat can be rented as a whole or by the individual room. It appeals to a variety of guests for overnight or weekly rentals, as well as for retreats and activities hosted by the owner and others.
With a modest budget and limited time frame, the client decided she wanted to focus on the bedrooms, sunroom, and hot tub room first. The client wanted to take a Scandinavian approach, for budget reasons, to work with what she already had, and to appeal to the population in the UP (including the prevalent Finnish population). We took a comfortable, fresh and elegant approach to allow guests to have a relaxing stay. The space is calming yet bold, inspired by the beauty of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
I accompanied the client on shopping trips and provided her with the following services: interior design consulting; color selection and painting; window treatment selection and installation; floor treatment selection; furniture selection and installation; lighting selection; artwork and décor selection and installation.
