Functional solutions from the 1.618 team for the IT company's workspace.
TASK
The IT company has its own history and philosophy, and the corporate identity combines modern technology and the atmosphere of the Atomic Age of the 50s of ХХ century.
So, the design of the office had to correspond to the general concept of Ricker Lyman Robotic and was as functional as possible.
SOLUTION
To emphasize the modern style of the Atomic Age, we rounded glass partitions and walls where it was appropriate, and boom - this solution has improved the ergonomics of the space.
Workplaces have been designed to detail for the convenience of employees: hidden places for sockets, USB-outlets for charging gadgets, space for the system unit, a removable partition between the tables and almost imperceptible bending of the desktop in the center of the workplace for extra convenience.
Ventilation system was redesigned to provide even the smallest meeting rooms and negotiated one-on-one rooms with fresh air.
PLANNING
During the planning, we used a lot of techniques for effective space zoning and thought carefully about staff flows and division into functional zones. All this is to ensure that all communication is being natural and doesn’t disrupt business processes.
On the second and third levels, we expanded the area of the stairwell to use their area for reception and coffee point. This allowed us to separate noisy "guest" areas from workplaces.
SECOND LEVEL
Before:                                                                                                                                                                                         After:
Waiting areas, reception, cloakroom, open space and meeting rooms are located in this level.
We made a seat on the podium for the administrator, so communication with guests and employees  will be on the same level.

The waiting area is equipped with comfortable sofas, armchairs and a coffee point with a separate sink for dishes and a built-in filter for water.
And soft lighting adds even more comfort to this space.
But the main advantage of this level is a huge window into the work area! It overlooks an impressive glass cylinder. In addition to the aesthetic function, it also performs a practical one - it is a negotiating area that can easily accommodate up to 10 people

Workplaces are separated by glass partitions, functional walls or racks from transit zones. Such solutions promote a culture of open interaction with colleagues, and at the same time allow you to focus on processes.

We moved the transparent meeting rooms closer to the center to facilitate access to them. This idea also allows you to differentiate between different functions of the zone and make the most of natural light for workplaces.
Additionally, we decorated the walls of some meeting rooms with decorative panels that absorb noise and catch echoes. All meeting rooms have ventilation, heating and air conditioning.
In the middle of the open space we placed a meeting room with comfortable sofas and a desk. Here teams can discuss their work without disturbing others.
THIRD LEVEL
Before:                                                                                                                                                                                         After:
On this floor - work areas, functional kitchenette, space for education and relaxation - the library and the company's own technical laboratory!
Note: the concept of rounding applies even to luminaires and some baseboards.
We filled the central transit zone with comfortable niches for rest and communication. Using every inch rationally is our constant credo!
The design of the kitchen is restrained, concise and practical, and a touch of deep coral adds accent.
For convenience (and fairness), refrigerators with employee lunches are equidistant from all offices 🙂.

And we designed all the kitchen furniture for storing dishes, snacks and half a million different types of tea / coffee.
The laboratory was located so as to minimize the impact of noise on the work process.
This is the heart of the  company, so it is hidden behind glass, which protects the net from the danger of harm.

In each zone we added plants for the purpose of aesthetics, and the main thing - a healthy microclimate indoors
And this area - a real find for lovers of peace and quiet in the midst of workflow.
Here you can listen to music on a record player and fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the last century.
We decorated some recreation areas with paintings from the alternative past, which are part of the Ricker Lyman Robotic corporate identity.
FOURTH LEVEL
Before:                                                                                                                                                                                         After:
We are sure that this floor will become a favorite for most employees!
Besides additional working spaces, there are entertainment areas and spacious kitchen with a bar.
We deliberately located the kitchen on the top floor and near the exit to the roof terrace, where later there will be a recreation and entertainment space.
Sewerage and water supply were installed on the ceiling of the lower floor almost from the opposite end of the building - yes, it is possible 🙂.
The kitchen is combined with an event area so that all staff can be comfortably accommodated during lunch, and large events can accommodate even more people.

As the company's employees are very fond of beer, we installed a device for making frothy drinks in the bar. Skittles with beer are stored imperceptibly under the rack, and a larger stock - in the pantry. Now internal corporate events will look like pleasant meetings with old friends.
This is a view from the dining room to the workplace. If necessary, the sliding partition can be removed and use the work area as additional useful space for large events.
This is the passage between two work areas, where different teams work.
In the aisle, we placed comfortable bright sofas in the company's corporate style, and a wardrobe with concealed cabinets.
On the way we come across another small meeting room. The transparent wall overlooking the work areas can be covered with curtains to ensure 100% concentration.
Also We made the second work area concise in design so that no extra details would distract from work. And several bright light sources on the ceiling will take care of the team's vision even on the darkest days.
The dark matte cabinet with rounded corners keeps the company's main product - Hivecell equipment for workflow automation.
Employees who are accustomed to relieving fatigue with computer games will be able to do so in a separate room. Here, too, you can arrange online matches between team members during team building and joint corporate entertainment.
The space for events is multifunctional: today a speaker can perform here on the podium and it will be comfortable to watch him from any point of the room, and tomorrow this area will become a lounge. Plus - it's a great location for large meetings of the whole team.
A long bar along the window - extra space for lunch or coworking.
Hammock, beer, different types of seats form a space that translates the creative corporate culture of the company.
Here we have placed absolutly soundproofed meeting room in case of important negotiations or work in complete silence. Greens dilute and enliven the muted gray-pastel range.
CONCLUSION
The design for Ricker Lyman Robotic office is a sustained aesthetic of functionalism, a touch of corporate identity with Atomic Age accents and an ergonomic space for every employee and guest.
