A R R I V E D

Mars is the epitome of the yearning of all space agencies. Now another robot has successfully landed. It sends images of the Red Planet over a distance of an incredible 54 million kilometres. Watching the landing of Perseverance I was inspired to this series.

With this series I experiment to get "Pictures from Mars". It is based on shots on Lanzarote a time ago, mainly from Montana Roja, an old, extinct volcano with a large crater. As the name of the volcano suggests, the sand, rock and debris have a reddish hue - so one of the components for images from Mars are given. I decided to combine them with a dark, black nothing, trying to reach the dark "sky" of space - to show the imagination we presumably all have from Mars.
