Digital-Mute-Glasses & Scratch off Rent

About
"Digital Mute Glasses" & "Scratch a Rent" is a project with the intend to make meta data visible and to play with the visibility of hidden data with the help of Augmented Reality (AR). Through our process we developed a concept App that turned buildings in the City of Zürich into scratchcards that reveals the rent prices to create a discourse on the differences in rent that is often unspoken and not available data for many. Along the way we also approached a more analog concept in which we build glasses that block out monitors just to have the choice of walking around without being forced to see monitors. It is made out of polarized film that is adjustable by rotating each side. We were able to present our Project at the A-Maze Festival in Berlin 2019.

Inspiration
From the movie "They Live" in the scene where he put on glasses to see through the sublime messages from advertisements we were inspired to create a conceptual design that could have a place in our world and is not fiction anymore.
