Radio Script

Intro
It all began 50 years ago.
Today our host Claudia Lozano will introduce us to the legendary 70’s group, Abba.
You may not know them but you have heard of them before with their classic songs like “Dancing Queen” or “Waterloo”.
In a span of fewer than 10 years, they have released 8 amazing albums. However, don't be fooled, their success didn’t end in the 70’s. 50 years later their presence is still felt.

Their impact on the music industry
They were the most successful band after the Beatles. All of their songs were upbeat and had a story to tell. No wonder, they transformed the intricacies of feminine passion, they reigned the top 40 for women listeners. They paved the way for the female audience taken seriously in the music industry.

A cultural reference
After their raging success, two of the bandmates; Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Anderson  collaborated to create the movie Mamma Mia, a romantic comedy starring Meryl Streep.
A great movie that put once more Abba on the map.
And how could you not love “Mamma Mia”! Along with the sky, the blue and white buildings, and the mystery of who Sofie’s real father is. This movie is joy, love, and drama in one big package. This is the kind of movie that leaves you with a smile. Abba was responsible for memorable songs in history and "Mamma Mia" with a fantastic cast. I can definitely say I’m “Mamma Mia”’s biggest fan for the music, the storyline, and the beautiful friendship on-screen. I love the movie and I love the group.

Personal opinion
To conclude, I love Abba. I have lots of memories in my grandma’s kitchen listening to “SOS”, “Fernado” and so many others. To me they are more than just a group, their music helps me connect with her. Music is such a powerful thing and it can’t be compared. Abba was group that had amazing songs in English, Spanish and Swedish. Even nowadays, it is difficult to find a group that can reach so many people. Their songs are the perfect representation of life; we live joy, love, heartbreak. You can find a song for any type of mood. I love it!

Extro
After 50 years and two “Mamma Mia” movies released, Abba’s influence continue.
Join Claudia Lozano next week on another exciting segment.
First draft of my radio script. Some changes were made to better my paper. I would say that the part that changed the most is the second paragraph "Their Impact on the Music Industry". The main problem was that I based what I wrote on an article in Rolling Stones, I didn't really understand the article. So, I had to edit out most of it to erase the paraphrased ideas.
