8th century Hindu Royal Temple
This temple is in one complex and consists of nine temples, the Javanese language call it the Gedong Songo temple or the nine buildings temple.
This temple complex is one of the oldest relics of Hinduism in Indonesia.
The location of this temple is in Candi village, Bandungan subdistrict, Central Java. Geographically, which is at an altitude of 1200 m above sea level. The location is exactly at the foot of Mount Ungaran so that coolness can be felt in this area. The temperature is around 19 ° - 27 ° Celsius.
It is not known when Gedong Songo Temple was built until now, even archaeologists have not been able to solve this problem. So that this temple is still often used as research material in the field of archeology. However, there are some who argue that this temple was built during the reign of the Hindu Sanjaya dynasty in Java, which is around the 8th century. This is also seen in terms of the building and style.
The shape and relief have become evidence that this temple was built during the reign of the Sanjaya dynasty. This is what strengthens them to think that this temple was built in the 8th century. However, no one has confirmed that even the years of construction of this temple have not been conventionalized by some experts.
I visited this temple in the morning with a foggy atmosphere even full of fog, on this occasion I took pictures with the fog which according to the eye of photography is very artistic, I don't forget to take photos around this temple with full nuances of the fog.
