This small building of sixty square feet was designed for William Channing, a nature poet from the early 1900s. The structure is separated into two buildings; one for sleeping formed of stone with built in bookshelves, and one with a desk, fireplace, and built in wooden shelving made of soft wood. By separating the two structures I created an in-between space and incorporated the working and resting spaces into nature. A creek runs under the exterior in-between space making it possible to feel and hear natural sounds while the poet writes surrounded by the woods.
