Interactive Installation - Elfish Stairs
Elfish Stair is an installation to trigger interaction and fun between human and stairs. Smart as elfins, lights leaping around and following people stepping up and downstairs. These flashing spots create a lively experience on stairs.

There are 12 ultrasonic sensors located in the side of 12 steps and seninge the position of experiencer on the stairs. The Arduino Mega collects the sensor data, tests and selects the lowest value of the data to increase the accuracy of the location, and then sends location data to Processing.
Processing maps the data from Arduino and generate animation. At last, by the reflection of a mirror plate, the animation is projected on the stairs and interacts with experiencer’s footsteps like elfish leaping around and folloing up.
