Chinese fashion designer Guo Pei takes her inspiration from old china patterns and paintings. She then creates elaborate avant guard designs that function as sculptures.  Her home designs are as extravagant has her fashions, therefore, the packaging needed to be indicative of her work, but still calm enough not to upstage it. 

The boxes take her elegant Chinese style and make it palatable to a Western audience. The angles reflect those in her work and the bronze sticks that function
as handles resemble the head pieces in her fashion line.
