Inspired by the music album In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
This was completed for a open project in screen printing. I choose to illustrate all 11 songs from Neutral Milk Hotel's album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea in an abstract manner. I wanted to challenge myself by reconstructing songs into visual works that depicted how I not only interpret each song but also the album as a whole. It was important to work on a small scale (each print is only 3x5 inches) to keep it intimate. The small size also alludes to old photographs to instill a sense of nostalgia, which was a vital concept I wanted to portray.
