My most recent piece from college. This cabinet encompasses work I did with a blacksmith who taught me to make pattern welded steel. From this experience I drew on the inspiration of layers to inform my design phase and bring me to this final piece. The design is minimal and sleek, designed to be wall mounted it would sit at head height. The cabinet is inconspicuous, however when holding the owners prized possessions it will make a bold statement about their own tastes.
The cabinet features a drawer and a hidden locking mechanism to prevent people from easily gaining access.

This project enabled me to use techniques I had never used before, mainly those needed for bending acrylic. This was a difficult task however I feel the end results are quite good.
