The university brief was to design a museum identity to celebrate the life and work of mathematician and code-breaker Alan Turing. Known for his successful governmental and technical work, Turing also had an eccentric and interesting personal life. The Zero One exhibition provides an insight of this, revealing the man beyond the machines.
The name is intriguing and ambiguous. As well as relating to binary code the name also expresses two elements coming together. We chose to expose the negative space of Zero One, as this represents the 'machine' and we want people to see beyond that.
