Here's a project from way back in 2007. I did all of these illustrations for Lucasfilm/Brooklyn Brothers to promote the show that was going to air on the History Channel. I was pretty excited because growing up, I loved Ralph McQuarrie's concept drawings and paintings. I remember I first saw a book with his designs from The Empire Strikes Back when I was in elementary school and I couldn't put it down. The brief was to make these illustrations look like design progressions and I knew the style very well. I went to the same school as McQuarrie(though much, much later) and the visual communication style he used in his design drawings was the same style I was trained in during school. These aren't exacly the same just because they wanted it to look more sketchy(thus the cross hatching) rather than a clean marker drawing as I'd normally do for a product rendering/design.
3 of the location photos are from NY and one from LA.
