AREA: performant tennis shoes.
OBJECTIVE: designing a green performant shoe for an amateur user.
CONCEPT: shoe with only 2 components: sock + cage. The cage is made in pebax and moulded in only 1 piece. The outsole is always in pebax, but with major density and they are folded together. The shoe is
totally recyclable.
HOW TO MAKE A PERFORMING SHOE THAT FITS WELL?
In order to make a good tennis shoe firstly you have to understand how the foot behaves when you play tennis.
To do that we started studying foot’s tensions and critical points. This has been possible especially thanks to the knowledge of our teacher Mr. Filippo Pavesi, who worked as sport shoes designer during his life.
Once that foot’s needs have been defined, we try to solve them designing a new shoe.
RECYCLABLE MATERIALS:
all the materials used for the shoe’s components are made with recycled material and/or recyclable.
DIVISIBLE COMPONENTS:
This shoe has been thought to have 3 divisible components: lace, sock and cage.
The lace is a common cotton lace. The sock, available in summer and winter version, protects the foot by the direct contact with the cage.
The cage is 1 piece but having 2 density areas: the first one, white part, is in pebax foam and the second one, red outsole, is made by pebax (same material with major density).
