Ivy Biomedical Systems Office of the Future

Spring 2008

For this project, we were to design the office for Ivy Biomedical Systems as if it were 20 years from now. It was to be the office of the future. When I originally started working on the office of the future, I was immediately inspired by a japanese concept car I found on the internet. The cab spins around 360 degrees so that tasks like parallel parking can all be done facing forward.
As I started to think more about the car, I wondered why spaces couldn't move to fit our needs daily just as the concept car did. My concept became transformable spaces. I also realized, that as a result of this, circulation would change dramatically. My kaleidoscope of spaces radiate off of a center point, and move to fit the needs of the employees daily. I really enjoyed this project. It allowed me to think in a very different way. My presentation was completely digital, which is how they will be done in the future!
