Hailey Lane Photography Visual Identity

Hailey Lane Photography
Talented photographer, Hailey Lane approached me to develop a new visual identity for her business, Hailey Lane Photography, after seeing the monogram I designed for Sam Collins Media. The brief was that the identity must capture the essence of her photographic work, it must be simple, elegant and mature and it had to incorporated her name.

Hailey's work references the era of Romanticism. I began the design process by researching the philosophy and ideology behind this period in art history and the paintings it produced. I also submerged myself in Hailey's moving photographs of nature and the lone man/woman within it. It became apparent that, just as Hailey expressed in her brief, the design must be simple, pared back and work in symbiosis with the beauty her photographs express.

The resulting visual identity emerged from this extensive research, thought and contemplation. Circles and lines work together to form the initials, H, L and P. The larger circle represents Hailey's eye and how it perceives objects through a camera lens.  It is a motif replicated throughout the logomark and typography.  The simplicity of the identity allows it to be placed over Hailey's photographs. Together they are used for her branding collateral such as her business card and the Facebook cover image represented below.
