GMU Theater Website Redesign

  • GMU Theater Website Redesign
    Cleaning up a complicated website
  • For this project, we were asked to redesign George Mason University's current theater website. They had mentioned that they didn't want to use the George Mason colors, and rather wanted to kind of create their own branding. They also wanted something that they could change without the help of a web adminstrator, so although it wasn't a requirement, I created a WordPress site using the WPshower Sight theme as a template.

The minimum requirement was that we had to code nine pages. With my site being WordPress based, I had to to do more than that, since several of the pages populated all of a certain type of post.

This was the final result. It ended up being really clean and somewhat minimalistic, because the website is just so text heavy, and I didn't want to overload the user with graphics in addition to text. My primary goal was making it easy to find information, since the current website is very scattered and inconsistent.

Note that all gradient/shadow effects are done using CSS3 rather than images, except for the "donate" button on the side of the site.
