Council of Educators of Toronto Symposium

The Council of Educators of Toronto (CET) is a 12-member network comprised of representatives from: five colleges, four universities, two school boards and United Way Toronto’s Community of Practice on Youth Educational Attainment Partnerships. It aims to foster collaboration across access and outreach programs across each institution to enhance access to post-secondary education.

It is the CET’s mandate to develop and implement a collaborative and coordinated approach among educational institutions to enable easier and better student program matches in the access and outreach programs they offer.

On January, 30, 2014, archiTEXT worked with the CET team to facilitate their annual Program Pod Symposium. archiTEXT led participants, which included community practice members, educators, board members, program directors and supporters, through a series of design thinking exercises to explore and envision the areas of resiliency, outreach and partnership/collaboration. Through this day of knowledge sharing and networking, CET was able to gain a broader understanding of the most pressing issues and barriers in access to youth education from the perspective of the practitioners in order to better inform future areas of CET activity.
