Brosmind Army is a personal project consisting of our own army of limited edition ceramic sculptures. The army was divided into different military units, and each unit was made up of 50 soldiers which could be distinguished from members of the other units by the particular kind of hat they wore. The first unit of soldiers produced were the canotiers, named after the French word for boater, a traditional hat made of straw, with a flat brim and crown. Although the soldiers’ bodies all came from the same mold, each of the sculptures was unique in the design of their faces, their tattoos and their ID tags. A very interesting feature of these pieces was that when the hat was adjusted, you were able to change the soldier’s facial expression, choosing from three different possibilities. All of the pieces were made in the Apparatu studio (www.apparatu.com) near Barcelona .

Brosmind Army is a personal project created by the Mingarro brothers and consists in a growing army of limited edition ceramic sculptures. The army is divided in several Platoons of around 50 soldiers, distinguished by a particular kind of hat. Each soldier is a unique piece, with its own face, tattoos and accesories. Also, turning the hat of the soldier is possible to switch between three different face designs. In a nearly future the Army is supposed to reach 20 different Platoons, that will mean 1000 unique soldiers.
The Canotiers are the first Platoon of the powerful Brosmind Army. Their name comes from the canotier hats their wear, which are straw made with straight brim, flat crown and decorated with a black ribbon. The first 50 ceramic soldiers have been produced in Apparatu studio.
