My Spring Break: Abandoned Detroit
I had always wanted to go to detroit. One day, my dad asked me what I wanted to do for my spring break. Without thinking twice, I said i wanted to go to detroit and urban explore. I was shocked when he agreed. I did a lot of pre planning. I looked up images on the internet and searched their locations. I numbered 24 places on a map accompanied by a key that describes each location. It was the end of April 2011 when we went, the first warm weekend, so we were told, so we got lucky. We were informed we came at the perfect time because the homeless had not given the chance to return back into the abandoned buildings from their warmer climates. We rented a car and started on our journey, wearing thick boots, and plenty of warm clothing. We separated the list in two for the two days we were going to be there. Out of the 24 places, we only got in about six, plus more that we happened upon. Some buildings were definitely more fascinating than others.
