  • The exhibition takes its title from a Upton Sinclair short story so we looked to vintage paperback novels for typographic cues. These were married with gestures from academic journals and mid-century exhibition catalogs, 2 recurring touchpoints.
  • The book is divided into 2 sections— an ”exhibition” of 5 pages of work by each artist printed on a light blue stock and “context”, an interview with the curators and artists biographies that uses black ink on a cream linen paper.
  • Each artist’s work is laid out organically without a grid  in an attempt to give each work its own identity.
  • Paper stock change as the content transitions from art to editorial.
  • The backcover references academic journals where the contents are often displayed on the cover.
