The application center was needed to deliver local applications to users from inside the company. They had a repository of apps but no place to deliver and promote these apps efficiently. I incorporated the naitve interactions the device already had to create a unique and smooth user experience for the application. The design was focused on the user so he/she could interact with the app center in the best way possible.

 

Another challenge was the backend technology of the current application. The application content is based on IBM WebSphere 7, so I needed to design a new hole interface for mobile devices compatible with this backend technology as well. We also used Phonegap framework to take advantage of the native functionality of the device.

My role:
As lead UX/UI Designer and Developer on the project I designed the user interface, developed the prototype and made recommendations on how to make the portal iPad/iPhone-compatible.
