Takamatsu Contemporary Art Annual vol.08 VI

Takamatsu Contemporary Art annual vol. 08/ Dissect The Society

I designed advertising arts at an Exhibition which is a part of Setouchi Triennale 2019. The client, Takamatsu Art Museum, requires for visualising the main theme called “Dissect The Society” using by posters, flyers, captions and an art book. Therefore, I choose “Incision” as a main visual. The visual of “Incision” looks like entrance, and it also covers the influential role of invite the exhibition. Expressing to distinguish the outside and inside of the exhibition, I set a specific rule about visuals and typography. As a result, audience can be felt the theme from every creation.

Through the communicating to others, we often realise and learn from the point of view which is different of mine in our daily lives. The artists also create their productions using their original view to the society. Therefore, I try to reach the audience to their arts. As a result, “Incision”, as a main visual and entrance to the exhibition, is selected.

Expressing “Dissect”, I set “Incision” as a main visual. Showing the outside and inside of “Incision”, I set the rule of the typography which switch from serif to sans-serif at the ruled lines. This rule makes captions, statement boards, which have no visual images, more efficiently about the theme.
An art book is designed by the theme which reorganise the information about the dissection.
