Macao 1/1 is a unique piece in the LANDCARPET rug series and depicts one of the most interesting cities of Asia. The rug is based on an aerial image of Macao and centered on the original Portuguese settlement zone, extending over recently added and developed areas of the city that host some of the most impressive casinos in the region. The rug shows the urban side of human intervention in our landscapes thus grey tones representing buildings are predominant while the sea is a rich blue and forests and parks are held in contrasting green.

LANDCARPET is a modern area rug series, inspired by nature and farmed landscapes. It shows the world from straight above, as we usually see it only out of the window of a plane.

Based on satellite images LANDCARPET is a captured fascinating aerial view to touch. The stylized fields are of different height and let each rug appear like a miniaturized landscape transforming a rug into a piece of nature in your apartment.

As each culture deals with landscape and farming in a different way LANDCARPET comes in various series, each of them representing a different continent or country. Europe is held in warm green and brown colors, USA comes in very fresh green colors, Africa in a series of earthen tones and Netherlands as a colorful array of flower fields. Italy, a unique piece added purple and yellow tones showing Tuscany in fall.
