A Modern Interpretation
In one of my typography classes, we were assigned the task of reintepreting the first four chapters of Genesis using soley typography and shape. Because the story itself is so open to interpretaiton and has so much content to work with the visual and conceptual power was vast and wide. Conceptually, I desired to show the closeness, seperation, and then eventual meeting back together of God and Man. I really loved to the idea of using the folios to do this and the uncoventionality of placing them in the middle of the page instead of in the corners. I used swiss design as a main point of inspiration and ended up with a book that gave the old, rich story of Genesis more of a new age feel.
