The design of Haikou tower stems from the concept of ‘seedlings’, which is the landmark architecture of the image of Haikou city. The seedling from water signifies the potential developing spaces of China in future and nowadays.
Both the central barrel in the tower and main structure supported the building just as the seedlings’ stems which circulate people through the vertical traffic in this area. The mesh structure behind the wall in the tower formats the epidermal fiber of plants. ‘Seedling’ concept has been mastered in the embodiment of Haikou tower in the way of abstraction.
