Chibeasties 1 was my second game at Yggdrasil Gaming, and one of the first games on our html5 platform. When this game came along I jumped back into the Art Directors' chair. I basically wanted to improve on everything we did in the first game. Chibeasties 2 also had completely different features that we had to bring to life.
I wanted to redesign the game, starting with the characters. We needed to create 4 chibeasties, and 4 additional characters, that would serve as low pay symbols. I decided to go with little mushroom characters for the low pay symbols and these guys turned out really nice in the end.
The game features 4 different WILD features, and each feature required a different environment. We decided to create four realms, and also designed a cool way to switch between them.
I love working on game intro's, and this one was a lot of fun in particular. I wanted to create something that was humorous and that could stand apart from the game. Once I finished the script and the storyboards, we handed it over to the animators who brought these little guys to life.
This was a really fun game to work on with our talented crew of Artists, Animators, Developers & Game Producers.
