This artwork represents a self-portrait which is positioned upside down, due to the fact that illustrates a high inner tension. The closed eye from the neck is the symbol of isolation from the outside world, it is a refusal to communicate with the others.

This artwork represents another version to the previous one called ,,Nobody home" and reveals the transition from a personal moral disorder to a balanced state of mind. The character is normally positioned this time and the eye from the neck is opened, which means the desire to communicate with the external world.

This work reveals an unknown part of myself of which I become conscious during a deep meditation state of mind. The characters from the background symbolise the subconscious side which I am trying to bring to light, in order to be more aware of my hidden parts.

Freedom

The work ,,Freedom" reveals a good state of mind which is a real therapy for my wounded soul.. I was photographed by a friend while I was standing in the rain and my intention consisted in painting the raindrops which were pouring on my face and on my body. I tried to express this by creating plastic structures, using transparent silicon which was painted afterwards with oil colours. I am strongly connected to water, because it gives me a feeling of freedomand of purity.

Light

The work ,,Light" reprezents my image in white, as a bride, as a symbol of purity, which is unfotunately stained by my red blood of pain. The broken layers of wax create an interesting structure on the surface of my face, which is the expression of a deep suffering. My soul is broken, so my body is damaged too.

,,Purple melancholy" is the definition of my temper which is expressed by closed purple eyes, the symbol of melancholy and desire of isolating myself, in order to find my lost ego.

This work was painted during a difficult experience of my life when art was a real therapy for me, because I could express my strongest and my deepest inner feelings and start a new chapter afterwards. The upside down position of the character reflects moral disorder, isolation and suffering which are also expressed by the closed eyes and by the sewed chest.

This self-portrait illustrates the idea of (im)mortality due to the dramatic usage of black and white, which gives the viewer a feeling of sadness and mistery, making him reflect upon the ephemeral life. This work reflects an inner self-portrait, because it was executed with the closed eyes, by using ash on black paper.

This work is a visual expression of detachment from the outer world, which is suggested by the closed eyes. I intended to emerge in a complex process of self-knowledge through meditation. This state of mind is expressed by a cold chromatic which betrays the desire of having a distance from the visible universe.

Perfect imperfection

The work shows a different way of perceiving the imperfection... Perfection is an illusion and if it had existed, it would have been so disturbing, so for me the imperfection is just perfect! This work reveals an inner self-portrait which does not bear any resemblance with the physical image, because I intended to emphasize my own inner image. The red eye painted on the forehead symbolises the eye of self-knowledge, and the three small eyes, which replace the mouth, symbolise a deep silence.

The tridimensional hand is made from gypsum, in order to emphasize the idea of getting out of physical space limits.The neutral colours of the hands. which are different from the warm colours of the face, symbolise a transition from a physical to a spiritual life.

The dramatic usage of orange and violet emphasises the tension in this battle with my alter ego.
