Kevin & Kristel Invitation

Kevin & Kristel Invitation
Amalgamation of eastern and western aesthetics in a tactile experience.

Midori Design Works was commissioned by a private client to design their wedding invitation. Among the client's requests were to visually communicate the couple’s story artistically, take cultural sensibilities into consideration, and embody the wedding theme in an elegant manner.

A couple's story unfolds

Giving only a subtle hint of the wedding motif, the team took inspiration from the art deco movement and combined it with oriental elements.
The whole invitation suite is render only in gold and silver, catering to cultural requirements and at the same time providing a classy treatment.
Important events for the couple are represented by the places where they took place.
These are stylized in a bespoke poster that doubles as the envelope for the invitation. To achieve tactility, words in the invitation are treated with thermographic printing to produce a raised impression while the couple’s names are embossed with gold foil.

A portion of the invitation acts as a detachable RSVP, representing a golden ticket that the guests can bring to the event itself.
