Students are Motivated and Engaged
Classroom Management is based on student's engagement
The secret to my success is making sure my students stay engaged and are motivated in doing the assignments that I give them. I find joy in teaching students not how to be master artists, but to "master expressing" themselves through various media. I find that many of my students firs come in stating how they cannot draw and therefore, they will not be able to do the work, but I love these challenges, so I tell them "okay, but do you know how to draw a straight line, curved, geometric shapes, follow instructions, know your colors and which you like?" Their response is always, "yeah", then I say, well, if you pay attention, I will teach you how to express yourself using those elements and principles"  and thus I am on my way and have their curiosity peaked. It's amazing to see students who said that, completing works that are worthy of winning competitions.
Juniors and Seniors working productively and they said this was a tough group.
Some even enjoy it so much that they take on projects of creating for other teachers and organizations. Which they get extra credit for to inspire them to share their gift and make time to do something nice for someone else.
Even my students with special needs and limited proficiency learn how to express themselves and gain confidence through that expression.
