Project X: Master's Thesis at Keio Media Design

Project X
Master's Thesis at Keio University, Graduate School of Media Design
Semi-Finalist at 12th Startup@Singapore competition (Top 40 out of 340 teams)
A Master's Thesis project done at Keio University, Graduate School of Media Design. This project is in the field of augmented reality for sports.

Contextual inquiry and ethnography field studies were first carried out to understand the problems and insights in order to set up the framework for the design. Various prototypes that employed audio and haptics feedback were then built using Arduino, an open source electronics prototyping platform. User testings of the prototypes were then carried out before a selected prototype was chosen for further user studies. The results were then analysed using ANOVA.
Test subject wearing an audio prototype
Test subject wearing a haptics glove prototype
An Arduino built prototype that includes GPS distance sensor, wireless system and recorded audio feedback
Glove prototype built using Arduino showing the wireless micro-controller unit and vibration feedback components
Electronics (Software and Hardware) Prototyping
User Studies 1: in lab testings
User Studies 2: similar to actual real world usage setup
