A freelance project for OSIM International, which specialises in well being products. The brief is to conceive blue sky ideas for their hygiene line of products. This is a 5 man team project whereby we brainstorm and discuss ideas. This idea is conceived by me and discussed with my team.
In a humid tropical environment like Singapore, it is difficult for towels to dry rapidly, making it unpleasant (moist and smelly) to be used later. Thus, the concept is a towel rack that can dry the towel rapidly and at the same time remove bacteria and smell from the towel, keeping it fresh, warm, hygienic and clean. This is achieved using infrared technology to dry and clean the towel.
The sketches illustrate the conceptualization and brainstorming process while taking into account user interaction factors.
These factors include:
1. User must be able to hang towels easily.
2. The heat emitted must not hurt or cause any injury to the user.
3. The hanged towel must have sufficient ventilation.
One of the earlier ideas is a heat emitting lamp that can be used to warm up towels. However, the towel cleansing rack idea is chosen to be developed further.

Infrared is a common technology used in products like infrared shoe dryer, food and tray cloth sterilizers as it transmits heat,kills bacteria and removes moisture.Thus, it is suitable to be used in Daisy.
