In 2022, the Eyre Peninsula updated its 15-year-old 'Eyre Peninsula: Australia's Seafood Frontier' brand to 'Eyre: The Wild Side,' bringing unity to its 11 council districts. The new visual brand identity features a versatile, typographic logo and adopts a unique tone, provided by the custom typefaces 'Gaffa Wild' and 'Gaffa Mild.' These fonts, inspired by the rugged, hand-applied signage of the Eyre Peninsula, add a distinctively rugged and raw character. 'Gaffa Wild' exhibits an untamed, distressed look with overlapping, tape-like letters, making it ideal for large headlines. In contrast, 'Gaffa Mild' offers a milder appearance suitable for smaller text. Ligatures in these fonts allow for personalised letter combinations, enhancing versatility for in-house designers and fostering engagement among local communities and businesses with this distinctive identity.
