Escape to the Pangora mines

I’m excited to share with you my recent work “Escape to the Pangora mines” I created this painting over 5 weeks and it is the 4th in my new series exploring the dreamer in us all. New worlds, unexpected voyages, mysterious revelations, new friendships and quiet moments of joy on reflection of the wonders of our universe.

Mia stood on the deck of the weather battered research vessel. Looking out at the tall globular
structures as they approached Pangora, scarcely believing the events of the previous 24 hours.

She and Rayna looked up at the figure of Danielle who stood on the bridge their new companion’s appearance having come not a moment too soon the day before.

Having discussed with little optimism what was going to become of them Mia and Rayna fell into a troubled sleep. Some time later they were woken suddenly
by a slim woman in a black who called herself Danielle and told them she’d been sent by Mia’s parents to get them out.

The girls quickly followed her lead and climbed into the ventilation shafts which their rescuer
navigated with expertise. 40 minutes later they came out from the end of an exhaust duct and swam 200 or so meters to a small submarine nearby.

They went below and Danielle quickly piloted the craft beneath the waves and told them they would rendezvous with a vessel in 8 hours and to get some sleep.

Excited by their unexpected incarceration the girls were keen to know how they’d been found so quickly. Danielle explained that they’d been tracked for their safety in case something happened to them, there had been a number of kidnappings by a notorious crime syndicate recently who were extorting money from wealthy individuals for the return of their
loved ones.

The girls realised they’d had a close call, and fell into a deep sleep relieved to me safe and sound…
