MUSTAD EIENDOM

Mustad Eiendom is a leading real estate company located in Lysakerbyen, the city centre for Oslo West and Bærum East, also including Fornebu. Mustad Eiendom is a family-owned company based on industrial work and was established in Gjøvik 170 years ago. Today’s owners are the sixth and seventh descendants of the entrepreneur Hans Skikkelstad. In 1986, Mustad Eiendom was established as a subsidiary company in the industrial group Mustad AS, but was demerged as an independant company in 1997. The company’s properties was originally a part of the Mustad company’s industrial business, which has been converted to an open city area.

Mustad Eiendom today manages 240 000 m2, mainly commercial properties, and had a turnover of roughly 250 mill Kroner in 2012. Their properties are allocated by a number of businesses, 80 of them connected to the shopping center CC Vest. Mustad also deliver offices for Statkraft AS, BayernGas AS, SN Power AS, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line AS, Petroleum Geo-Services ASA and several others. The spring of 2013, Mustad Eiendom bought Granfos Næringspark, an area of another 60 000 m2, consisting primarily of commercial property.

In April 2013 Anti was contacted by Mustad Eiendom wanting help to design a coffee table book that would take the reader through its 500 years of industrial history. Mustad Eiendom wanted a high end book that would provide both a good visual and content related experience and also a book that would serve as a historical reference. The book would be sent as a gift to business partners as well as sold in a selected bookstore at the Mustad owned shopping center CC Vest.

The 330 pages is an exciting journey in both text and pictures through the industrial history of what is today the area Lilleaker. The book describes over 500 years of history that includes pioneers, inventors, scientists, artists and industrialists both national and international.

The pictures in the book are drawn from various historical works, journals and archives and is retained in its original color profile and quality to emphasize the book's historical value. The cover has a sand colored cloth skirting with silver foil and a sash around the book in Mustad blue with the title embossed. The choice of colours and materials maintains the seriousness of the historical work ,but also works as great gift wrapping. The book was printed in 2500 copies at a Swedish printer company called Gøteborgtrykkeriet, a company known for their expertise with comprehensive printing assignments.

Anti wish to thank the Managing Director of Mustad Eiendom, Halvard Øye and author Halvard Utter for a great cooperation and inspiration during this process.
