Roots of Music is a non-profit organization in New Orleans committed to keeping music a vibrant part of New Orleans culture. JRW photographed the body of students July 2010 at the downtown Roots of Music campus. The students come from all parts of the the city to get a boot camp style music education but it goes beyond that. Kids must maintain high GPA in school and have outstanding behavior. For these kids its bigger than just the music, it discipline, commeradery, and there only hope in getting a college scholarship. The group of images here were shot for marketing materials for the roots of music program.
