Design of dustbins for ATMs

Design of dustbins for ATMs
Duration: 1and a half weeks

Brief: To encourage people to throw their receipts in thedustbins.

It was found that most existing ATM dustbins require bending down to throw waste inside it, else it falls outside. The form of this dustbin is such that it fits on to the ATM machine itself, so the user does not have to look for a dustbin, bend to access it. The bottom of the dustbin is open able and can be used to empty the dustbin while cleaning and can be locked thereafter. The dustbin can have an open top as the waste coming in will be dry and will not smell.

Material chosen: Perforated steel.

Attributes: Formal, Conspicuous and Stable
Mood board for attributes formal, conspicuous, stable
The look and feel of this product had to be formal and clean
