Japanese animation and manga style were dominantly attracting me more than Disney classics in her pre-school time - and that's all she was able to watch in Korea. While I was busy practicing character drawings based on Japanese style till Grade 7, she has realised she cannot [communicate mass about her perspective towards social comments and issues happening in the world - or the truth? - through Japanese 'cute and pretty styles'] (I think I was start to think 'deep' from that age..). How can mass take a story serious when a character and a message does not fit? This turned her eyes to look at American comics. This influence became stronger when she moved to South Africa. Living in diverse culture made her exploring various drawing styles. However, she didn't want to follow American style completely either. She loves both - but more in realistic style - and she guesses her drawing style has turned out like that :) Read Less
