Wood Dickinson is founder and president of Think! LLC, a consulting firm that offers programs to help organizations and individuals learn how to become systems thinkers. Dickinson teaches Hope Theory and is integrating that with his new program, The Power of 7. He is also a founder and producer for the motion picture production company, Renegade Pictures, LLC.
After twenty years experience in the industry, Dickinson took over as CEO of Dickinson Theatres in 1992, a movie theatre chain founded by his grandfather in 1920. When Dickinson took over the company, the organization faced the same challenge as the rest of the industry…an over-abundance of movie screens, especially in major metro markets such as Kansas City.
Part of Dickinson’s reign at Dickinson Theatres included steering the company through a major reorganization in 1998. Dickinson employed the principles from the “7 Habits” to create a new principle-centered organization founded on trust and open communication. The right combination of downsizing in the corporate office and scaling back operations throughout the company put the company back on a growth track His efforts to reinvent his company were profiled in Living the 7 Habits by Stephen R. Covey, 1999. In September 2000, he sold his interest in Dickinson Theatres to a group of top Dickinson executives and founded Think! LLC.
Dickinson has also worked with the Shawnee Mission School District to help develop essential self-leadership and self-management principles with the students.
Dickinson has been a facilitator of 7 Habits since 1994 and has lead hundreds of participants through the course. During this time Wood helped in the development of what is today, the one day front line program. He was a beta tester facilitator and instrumental in the creating the “Live, Love, Learn, Leave a Legacy” film.
Dickinson graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications and a Master of Arts in Film. He is also a published poet and an accomplished photographer. Read Less
