I'm an artist and graphic designer who moved to Austin, Texas in the spring of 2013. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and though I've been away from NYC for nearly a decade, it’s indelibly a part of me—which makes it a frequent influence on my art.

I'm an artist and graphic designer who moved to Austin, Texas in the spring of 2013. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and though I've been away from NYC for nearly a decade, it’s indelibly a part of me—which makes it a frequent influence on my art.

In addition to learning sewing and playing drums, I’ve recently begun exploring different visual mediums, including screen-printing and print-making with woodcut.

Ask Louise Bova what her favorite color is, and she’ll surprise you with her response: “pattern!” She loves to capture the beauty of everyday life and infuse it with energy by twisting the perspective or adding layers of bright, vibrant color. Her influences include Matisse and Bonnard, the lonely scenes of Edward Hopper, and the emotional expressionism of the Fauvist painters.

A native New Yorker, Louise majored in painting at City University of New York at Brooklyn College and then studied graphic design at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She has worked professionally as a graphic designer for national publishing companies, garnering design awards and having her work published. Read Less
