Sixto-Juan Zavala is a graphic designer, illustrator, and video jockey. He has a B.F.A. in Communication Design from Texas State University. He specializes in identity work, poster design, illustration, and their application in social media. Zavala currently is the Visual Communicator at Mexic-Arte Museum (The official Mexican and Mexican-American fine art museum of Texas) working on exhibition design, promotional material, branding, and social media for the Museum. He worked at BradfordLawton, LLC, a San Antonio based graphic design firm from 2010–2013. Zavala serves as art director and VJ for Essentials, a multimedia applied arts collective. He also works as Art Director for Raspa Magazine, a queer latino literary magazine.

Zavala’s work reflects his interest in culture, especially art, fashion, music, and literature. His use of illustration, collage, and custom typography creates layered, evocative imagery. Read Less
