A Navy veteran with nine years of service, Robert Nolan founded and built his own construction company. At the age of 30, Robert Nolan began developing the business relationships that would lead to the formation of OmniTrade International, an international seafood exporter based in Virginia Beach, VA.

During his time as the President and CEO of OmniTrade International in Virginia, Robert Nolan positioned the company as one of the few U.S. exporters to Egypt, working directly with the Egyptian government to supply its underprivileged masses with high-quality, inexpensive source of protein in the form of canned mackerel, sardines, and herring. As a result of his work with OmniTrade International in Virginia Beach, VA, Robert Nolan was selected as a finalist for Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year in 2000. Even though he only has a sixth grade education, Nolan is self-taught and has devoted a significant part of his life to the operation and development of aircraft.

A former FAA commercial pilot, Robert Nolan is currently an FAA-certified flight instructor and also serves as a test pilot. Nolan also designed and built an FAA-certified MPTV (multi-purpose tactical vehicle) for use by the U.S. Government. The Stalker, a combination aircraft and extreme off-road ground vehicle, was the first flex-wing aircraft certified by the FAA for day and night flight (VFR) using either visual flight rules or (IFR) instrument flight rules. Nolan worked for nine years on this project and built a total of five aircraft that preceded the Stalker MPTV in the evolutionary process.

Originally from Detroit, he moved to the Miskito Coast of Nicaragua at the age of 12. Living in the jungle with the native people, Nolan became fluent in Spanish, as well as the Miskito Indian language. Following the Nicaraguan overthrow by the Russian and Cuban Communist forces, Nolan and his family were captured by the Soviet and Cuban military, imprisoned, accused of being spies for the U.S. government, and subsequently escaped. He is currently working with an author to turn the story of his family’s ordeal and their subsequent escape into a real-life novel. Read Less
